João Lucas

João Lucas began his senior career at Iporá, the club from his home town in Goiás, scoring twice in eleven appearances before Vila Nova signed him as a free agent later that year. What followed was a career built almost entirely on loan spells away from that club, taking in Goianésia, Manaus, Figueirense and, most recently, Velo Clube.

The goals along the way have tended to arrive at pointed moments. In 2022, playing for Vila Nova, he settled a Campeonato Goiano quarter-final against Goiânia with a strike in the third minute of stoppage time. Two years later he was on the scoresheet again in a 3-2 win over Operário-PR, the kind of contribution attacking midfielders are asked to provide.

At Velo Clube, where he arrived on loan in January 2026, he wore the number 20 shirt and made five appearances in the Campeonato Paulista before a further loan move, this time to Caxias, took him away again in February. Across his career in league and domestic cup competitions he has amassed 128 appearances, a tally built through the itinerant path that has defined his time under contract to Vila Nova.

There has been no call-up to the Brazil national team, and no major honours to date. His story so far is one of a player kept moving from club to club, picking up minutes and the occasional decisive goal wherever he lands.
