About the player
João Pedro left Brazil for Europe. After coming through the Vasco da Gama academy and making his first-team debut in January 2020, the left-footed winger made 14 appearances for the Rio club without scoring, then walked away from his contract in 2022 to test himself abroad, joining Real Balompédica Linense as a free agent.
Three seasons in Spain produced 98 appearances and 8 goals before he moved on to Cherno More Varna in 2025.
In Bulgaria, João Pedro featured 16 times in the efbet Liga in the 2025/26 season, scoring once and setting up another. His clearest contribution came in continental football rather than the league: across two UEFA Conference League qualifying matches against İstanbul Başakşehir in July 2025, he came off the bench for a combined 56 minutes and supplied two assists.
He left Cherno More as a free agent in January 2026 and signed with Brusque in Brazil the same month. Earlier in his career, he was capped three times by Brazil's under-17 side.
