About the player
Santiago Godoy came through Boca Juniors' academy before moving into Racing Club's youth system, but a first-team breakthrough at the Avellaneda club never really arrived: two seasons produced only a handful of appearances and a single assist.
Stara Zagora is where his career changed shape. A loan back to Argentina with Defensa y Justicia never got going — fourteen appearances produced no goals — but Godoy returned to Beroe and finished the 2024/25 season as the Bulgarian First League's top scorer, with 18 goals in 29 matches. He left the club with 23 goals in 47 appearances overall.
The scoring form carried straight into his move to CSKA Sofia in August 2025. He has scored ten goals in his first fifteen league appearances for the club, added a goal and two assists in Europa League qualifying, and was part of the squad that won the Bulgarian Cup in 2025/26. He has yet to be capped by Argentina's senior national team.
