Moisés Isaac Caicedo Corozo

Caicedo's move to Chelsea in August 2023 came at a British record fee of £100 million, potentially rising to £115 million with add-ons, and he signed an eight-year contract that was later extended to run until 2033. He has since made over 107 appearances for the club, scoring 5 goals, and delivered one of his most memorable moments in the 2024–25 Conference League final, netting a stoppage-time goal in Chelsea's 4–1 win over Real Betis. He was also named Chelsea's Player of the Season for that campaign, and went on to win the FIFA Club World Cup with the club later in 2025, when Chelsea beat PSG 3–0.

Before arriving in England, Caicedo came through Independiente del Valle's youth system in Ecuador, joining the senior squad in 2019 and making 25 appearances before Brighton & Hove Albion signed him in February 2021 for £4 million. A loan spell at Beerschot in Belgium followed, and on his return to Brighton he established himself with 45 appearances, earning the club's Player of the Season and Player's Player awards in 2022–23.

Internationally, Caicedo made his Ecuador debut against Argentina in October 2020 and scored his first goal for the national team days later against Uruguay, becoming, at 18 years and 11 months, the youngest Ecuadorian scorer at the time and the first player born in the 21st century to score for the senior side. He has since won 65 caps and scored 3 goals, featuring at the 2021 and 2024 Copa América tournaments, where Ecuador reached the quarterfinals on both occasions, and at the 2022 World Cup, where he scored against Senegal. He now captains the national team and is part of Ecuador's squad for the 2026 World Cup.
