About the player
At sixteen years and 45 days, Marko Đokaj became the youngest player ever to appear for FK Dečić, a record that now stands as the marker of his introduction to senior football. The midfielder, who can also play further forward, grew up in Tuzi and trained daily with Budućnost Podgorica's youth setup before switching, at 13, to Dečić's academy. There he worked under coaches Gavrilo Petrović, Nikola Mihailović and Slobo Tripković, and it was Edis Mulalić who handed him his senior-squad promotion at 15.
His form since has drawn notice at both club and international level. In a Montenegrin Cup meeting with Budućnost, which Dečić won 3:2, he started the match and was praised for his dribbling. At youth international level, he set up Matija Jovanović's goal for Montenegro's Cadet team in a European Championship qualifier against Israel in April 2024.
Đokaj wears the number 11 shirt at Dečić. His father, Deda Đokaj, is also from Tuzi.
