M. Palacios

Manuel Palacios left Quibdó for Patriotas and spent two seasons there before a free transfer took him to Portugal in 2014, where he played for Atlético CP and later Real in the Campeonato de Portugal. A return to Colombia followed with Alianza Petrolera and then Atlético Huila, but it was a loan spell in South Korea that reshaped his career: sent to FC Anyang in 2019, he scored 11 goals in 34 K League 2 appearances. He stayed at Pohang until 2022, also turning out for Seongnam FC that year.

China has been the next chapter. Palacios joined Chengdu Rongcheng on a free transfer in 2023, then moved on to Wuhan Three Towns in early 2025, and most recently signed for Jiangxi Dingnan United, also known as Heilongjiang Lava Spring, in the China League One. Across his career in Colombia, Portugal, South Korea and China, he has built up more than 400 appearances and beyond 59 goals from the right wing.

Palacios has also been called up to the Colombia national team. At Heilongjiang Lava Spring he now wears the number 7 shirt, the latest stop in a career built on repeated moves into new leagues rather than long spells at any one club.
