About the player
Mariano Santiago is a central midfielder who came through at Almirante Brown, making his professional debut in July 2022 and going on to establish himself as a regular starter there, playing 36 matches in the 2023 season. That run of games earned him a move to Godoy Cruz in January 2024, initially on loan. He wasted no time making an impression: on his debut for the club, on 1 April 2024, he scored the winning goal. He made 12 appearances and scored once, splitting his time between the Liga Profesional Argentina, the Copa de la Liga Profesional and the Copa Argentina.
He was loaned out to Quilmes in the Primera Nacional, where he featured four times without finding the net.
He returned to Godoy Cruz in 2026, adding six more appearances — five in the Primera Nacional and one in the Copa Argentina — before leaving for Almirante Brown.
