About the player
Some players take the long way round. Myrto Uzuni started out in the academy of Greek side Doxa Pigadakia.
At Ferencváros, Uzuni won the league twice and lifted the Hungarian Cup, and was the competition's top scorer with eight goals in the 2021/2022 campaign. He joined Granada CF in January 2022.
Granada is where the forward built his name. He top-scored as the club won the Segunda División in 2022/2023 with 23 goals, then finished as La Liga's leading scorer in 2023/2024 with 11.
In January 2025, Austin signed him as a designated player for a fee that stood as a club transfer record, on a contract running through 2027. He has since made 44 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals.
Uzuni has also become a regular for Albania, earning 48 caps and six goals for the senior side.
