About the player
Nicolás Messiniti was registered with the Buenos Aires club Independiente from 2017 until December 2024, but he was sent out on loan almost the entire time, moving through San Martín de San Juan, where he made his professional debut, then Defensores de Belgrano, Temperley, Once Caldas in Colombia and Tristán Suárez. At Temperley he had his best spell in Argentina, scoring seven goals in 14 matches.
In January 2024 he moved to Ecuador on loan with Delfín SC. When his contract with Independiente was not renewed, he became a free agent in January 2025 and signed briefly with Al-Hamriyah in the United Arab Emirates before joining C.D. Marathón in Honduras in July 2025. It was there that Messiniti finally produced his standout season: 14 goals in the Apertura 2025–2026, a record for a foreign player in a single tournament in the club's history, surpassing the 13 previously set by Yustin Arboleda. He finished as Marathón's top scorer, narrowly missing out on the league's overall top-scorer title.
At youth level, Messiniti represented Argentina's under-20 side at the 2016 Torneo de l'Alcudia and the 2017 South American U-20 Championship in Ecuador, but he has not been capped at senior international level.
