About the player
William Omar Duarte Figueroa made his name with Atlético Huila, where he spent much of his career and scored 26 goals in that first spell. A loan to Atlético Nacional in 2018 saw him play in the Copa Libertadores, and he helped the side win the Copa Colombia. He returned to Atlético Huila in 2020 and played his part as the club won the Categoría Primera B title, sealing promotion to the top flight.
A loan spell at La Equidad in 2021 was followed by a move to Jaguares de Córdoba, where he scored six goals in 28 games. In 2024 he had two short stints, first at Nacional Potosí in Bolivia and then at Llaneros back in Colombia, where he scored five times in 17 outings. He went back to Atlético Huila for a third spell in January 2025, with 13 goals in 39 matches.
That form preceded a transfer to Guatemala's Comunicaciones FC in January 2026, where he has continued scoring regularly, netting nine goals in 31 appearances so far. He has not been capped by the Colombian national team.
