O. Olatunde-Matthew

Oladotun Olatunde-Matthew's route to Moldovan football began nowhere near Eastern Europe. Born in Lagos, he came through the Kwara Football Academy along with CK Gefane FC and KJ Viktoria FC before leaving Nigeria altogether. His first stop abroad was Crimea, where a brief spell at SK Krim Alushta yielded five league appearances and no goals — a short entry in a longer story.

The move that shaped his career came in autumn 2023, when he signed for FC Afon in Nowy Afon, Abkhazia. He stayed close to two years, and the team's fortunes varied around him: sixth place in the Abkhazian championship in both 2023 and 2024, then a near-relegation finish in 2025 that the club survived. The clearer highlight came in the Abkhazian Cup, where Afon reached the 2023 final before losing 5-3 to Dinamo Sukhum.

In July 2025, Olatunde-Matthew joined FC Milsami Orhei in Moldova. The club carried the title of defending champions at the time, having won the 2024/25 league, though he arrived after that campaign had already been decided and had no part in the triumph. His time in Orhei proved short: by January 2026 he had moved on again, signing for Latvian side FK Grobiņa. There he found regular football, making 14 appearances in the Latvian Higher League and scoring once.

A defender comfortable on either side of the back line and capable of dropping into a holding midfield role, he stands 190cm tall. He has not been capped at international level for Nigeria or any other country, and no individual awards feature on his record.
