Pedro Augusto

Ubá, in Minas Gerais, is not a football hotbed, but Pedro Augusto made his way out of it through São Paulo's youth academy, where he broke into the first team as a central midfielder in January 2018. Loan spells followed at São Bento and, later, in Portugal at Louletano, before Tondela signed him outright on a free transfer in July 2019. He stayed four years in Tondela, appearing 93 times and scoring four goals, before returning to Brazil to join Fortaleza in July 2023, again without a transfer fee.

His time at Fortaleza carried both silverware and heartbreak. He won the Campeonato Cearense in 2023 and the Copa do Nordeste in 2024, but lost the Cearense final the following year. The defining moment of his career so far, though, came in the 2023 Copa Sudamericana final against LDU Quito: with the match heading to a penalty shootout, Pedro Augusto missed the decisive spot-kick and Fortaleza lost the title. During his time at the club he also spoke out publicly against a racist incident that occurred during a match against Atlético-MG.

He left Fortaleza in June 2025 for Sport Recife, again on a free transfer, before moving to Japan in March 2026 to join Tochigi City FC in the J2 League. He has represented Brazil's under-16 selection but has not been called up to the senior national team.
