About the player
Riga FC signed Raivis Jurkovskis in December 2021 as a free agent, and he made his debut for the club on 1 April 2022 in a 2-0 win over SK Super Nova.
He is a Liepāja native, and his career began there, with FK Liepājas Metalurgs 2 before he broke into FK Liepāja's first team. He spent two spells at the club, either side of a loan at FK RFS in 2016, where he made 27 appearances and scored six goals. In 2021 he moved abroad for the first time, joining Dundalk in Ireland as a free agent, where he made 29 appearances without scoring before returning to Latvia with Riga FC.
At Riga FC, Jurkovskis has built a record of sustained success. He has won the Virslīga title three times, in 2022, 2023 and 2024, and was also runner-up in each of those seasons. He added a Latvian Cup winner's medal in 2023 and a Latvian Super Cup in 2024. In the 2026 league campaign he has contributed two goals and five assists.
Jurkovskis debuted for the Latvia national team in 2018.
