Rudy Josué Muñoz Boteo

Rudy Josué Muñoz Boteo built his reputation at Municipal before the national team ever came calling. A left-footed left winger, he pushed his way into the first team during the 2024–2025 season, and the numbers backed up the eye test: five league goals in the Apertura 2024 plus another in the quarter-finals, then three more in the Clausura 2025. The clearest evidence of his finishing came on 22 September 2024, when he scored twice against Deportivo Sacapa in a 5-0 win.

That form carried him into Guatemala's senior squad. He made his international debut on 16 March 2025 against Honduras, a match Guatemala won 2-1, and by March 2026 he had earned 19 caps. His only goal for the senior side came on 13 November 2025, in a 2026 World Cup qualifier against Panama that Guatemala lost 2-3. He was also part of the squad at the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup, where Guatemala finished third or fourth.

His path to the senior team ran through Guatemala's youth ranks, where he was a regular scorer: 26 appearances and five goals at Under-20 level. He played at the 2023 Under-20 World Cup in Argentina and won the 2024 UNCAF Under-19 tournament with Guatemala, part of the age-group success that preceded his emergence at club level.
