About the player
Samuel Odeyobo's path to professional football ran through Belarus's lower divisions. He arrived in the country in 2013 for a trial at Smolevichi-STI, but document issues meant no contract followed, and he spent several years playing amateur football before finally signing with Krumkachy Minsk in 2016.
From there the Nigerian centre-back played for a string of Belarusian clubs on free transfers: Naftan Novopolotsk, Granit Mikashevichi, Belshina Bobruisk and Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino. Hegelmann finished as runners-up in the 2024 A Lyga during his time at the club.
In July 2024 he made his first move to Kazakhstan, joining FC Yelimay Semey for a transfer fee, and made 35 appearances there before signing for FC Altai Oskemen on a free transfer in February 2026.
Odeyobo has not been capped by Nigeria at international level.
