About the player
Right to Dream's academy in Ghana sent Shakur Mohammed to the United States for his education. At Duke, he scored 13 goals in 37 appearances across two seasons, was named ACC Freshman of the Year, then ACC Offensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-American, finishing as a semi-finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy.
A brief spell with Manhattan SC in USL League Two in 2022 brought a Metropolitan Division title before Orlando City took him second overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft on a Generation Adidas contract. The move gave him a route into MLS Next Pro with Orlando City B, where he scored 17 goals in 50 matches over two seasons.
On 7 January 2026, Nashville SC signed Mohammed from Orlando City in a deal made under the league's right of first refusal, with Orlando receiving a third-round pick in the 2027 MLS SuperDraft in return. He now wears number 14 for Nashville.
Mohammed has yet to feature for Ghana's national team.
