About the player
Umaro Baldé took the long route into professional football, moving through Portugal's lower divisions for the best part of a decade before arriving at Montana. Instead his career threaded through clubs such as Sacavenense, Tondela, Marítimo B and Vilafranquense. Varzim, AD Fafe, Oliveira do Hospital and Cinfães followed as he kept working through the same tier of Portuguese football.
Born in Amadora, Baldé holds Portuguese and Bissau-Guinean nationality, and it is Guinea-Bissau he has represented internationally. His debut for the national team came in a friendly against Martinique that finished 1-1.
In January 2026 Baldé signed for Montana on an 18-month deal, joining the Bulgarian club after years spent almost entirely in Portugal's domestic system. He wore the number 20 shirt in Montana colours before a further move, to Prague side Slavia, where he switched to number 27.
