Walter Ramón Araújo Molinas

In 2016, playing for Sol de América, Walter Araújo scored his first goal in Paraguay's top division — against Nacional. He had been at the club since 2012, and he stayed until 2017, with a loan spell at Sportivo Trinidense in the second half of that year.

The move abroad came in February 2018, to Trujillanos FC in Venezuela, where he played 25 matches and scored three goals. From there he joined Metropolitanos FC, making 33 appearances in the 2019 season alone.

A return to Paraguay followed. He signed with Sportivo Luqueño at the start of 2021 and left in the summer, joining Club River Plate in Asunción that July. He departed as a free agent in January 2022. Every one of his transfers was made either on a free or for an undisclosed fee.

He went back to Metropolitanos in January 2022 and stayed four years. In his first season back, the club won the Venezuelan Primera División. The later years were harder: Metropolitanos were relegated from the top flight in 2025, and his contract ran out in February 2026. He signed for Gualberto Villarroel San José in Bolivia the same month, again as a free agent.

At international level, Araújo represented Paraguay at under-20 level, appearing at the 2015 South American Youth Championship. He played three matches there — 164 minutes in total — without scoring. He has never played for Venezuela despite his years in the country; he holds Paraguayan citizenship.
