About the player
Xavier Valdez grew up in Harlem and spent a decade in the youth ranks of Manhattan SC before moving on to Shattuck-Saint Mary's for a single season. That same year, he turned down a call-up to the United States under-20 squad.
Valdez spent his development years with Houston, making 48 appearances for the club's MLS Next Pro side. He signed a contract extension in December 2023 to keep him in Houston through the end of 2024. Nashville SC claimed him in December 2024 through the league's end-of-year waiver process, then signed him to a deal for the 2025 season with club options through 2027.
