Pengfei Xie

Pengfei Xie left home young, joining Hangzhou Greentown's academy in 2006 and spending a spell on loan at French club FC Metz for youth training before his senior career even began, and he returned to break into Hangzhou Greentown's first team after a loan spell at Wenzhou Provenza.

His career took off at Jiangsu Suning, where he stayed for four seasons and won the Chinese Super League title in 2020. When the club folded shortly afterwards, Xie had to start again on a free transfer at Cangzhou Mighty Lions. He rebuilt quickly: at Wuhan Three Towns he won the Chinese Super League in 2022 and the Chinese FA Super Cup in 2023.

Shanghai Shenhua paid a reported fee of 10 million RMB to sign him in January 2024, and the move has continued to pay off — he has won the Chinese FA Super Cup with the club in both 2024 and 2025. A left-footed right winger, his trophy record now stretches across three different clubs.

At international level, Xie made his senior debut for China in 2019 and has since earned 18 caps, without finding the net for his country. He was named in China's squad for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. He came through the Chinese youth ranks as well, representing the under-19s and under-23s before stepping up to full international football.
