Besa Biel/Bienne

Besa Biel/Bienne spent 2023/24 in the fifth-tier 2. Liga interregional and came out of it promoted to the 1. Liga Classic, the fourth tier. The 2024/25 season was its first at that level.

The club was built for a practical reason. In 2009 KF Rinia, an Albanian-community side with roots in the 1990s, merged with FC Ceneri, which dated from 1952. The club's own history dates its life from 1 July 2010, though the merger itself was made the year before. The name is Albanian: "besa" means courage, a promise, or honour. Local media often call the team "Die Albaner", and the ties to Biel/Bienne's Albanian community remain the club's defining feature.

The other side of the town is FC Biel-Bienne, and matches against them are the local derby. Bern's FC Breitenrain are a familiar opponent as well. They play in another city, but league status has put the two clubs in the same competition often enough.

Home games are played at Sportplatz Längfeld 2, a small ground for up to 1,200 spectators. The team wears a red shirt, white shorts and black socks.

Among the names the club's followers repeat, Fatmir Bakiu and Mergim Rexhaj are the ones they call legends. Miran Maksuti is the one remembered as a goal machine.
