Chotebor

SK Chotěboř was formed in 1918 in a small town in what is now the Vysočina region, near Havlíčkův Brod. The club has stayed within reach of home ever since.

Its honours read like a map of those tiers: the Pardubice regional championship in 1950, the East Bohemian first-class league in 1963, and further section titles in 1979, 2002 and 2003. Each came at the fourth, sixth or seventh level of the pyramid.

Home games are played at the Letní stadion Chotěboř, and the shirts have been red and white since the club's first season. The current side sits in the 4. liga, the fourth tier, and finished the 2025/26 campaign in 12th place under chairman Karel Zmek and coach Martin Jakeš. FC Velké Meziříčí has become the fixture that matters most in recent seasons, in the league and in the MOL Cup; Chotěboř beat them 2:0 in a July 2026 qualifying round.

The closest the club has come to breaking into the second tier of the regional pyramid was second place, and it has happened four times without ever going one step further: in the Divize českého venkova in 1947/48, in the Pardubice regional league in 1951, and twice more in the Vysočina regional championship, in 2014/15 and again in 2024/25. Each time, Chotěboř has finished the season just short of the promotion it was chasing.
