Egypt U19

Cairo hosts most of Egyptian football's showpieces, and the Cairo International Stadium, built for 75,000, is where the under-19s turn up whenever a fixture needs the room — training and lesser matches go to the smaller Al Salam Stadium instead. The side answers to the Egyptian Football Association, founded in 1921 and admitted to FIFA two years later, and it carries no separate birth date or ground of its own; it borrows both from the senior set-up.

What the age group has is a run of continental titles that predates the current under-20 label. The African Youth Championship was played at under-19 level until 1991, and Egypt won it that year, plus in 1981, then again in 2003 and 2013 under the renamed banner — four titles spread across three decades.

Wael Riad took charge of the age group in October 2023 and led it into the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil, then through qualification for the 2025 edition.
