Elite went into the 2026 CFU Club Shield with a straightforward first-round tie against VG United, the Virgin Gorda side, and won it 2–0. The Round of 16 brought the same scoreline the other way: Delfines del Este beat them 2–0 and ended the run. It was not new ground. In 2024 they also won their opening match in the competition and went out in the Round of 16.
The Shield is the second tier of Caribbean club football. In 2017 they were in the Caribbean Club Championship and finished bottom of their group.
The side comes from West Bay, on Grand Cayman, and was formed in 2006. It won the Cayman Islands Premier League in the 2008–09 season, and again in 2010–11. The third title arrived in 2024–25.
Home games are played at the T.E. McField Sports Centre in George Town. The social colours are blue and black, which the club gives in their Italian form, Azzurro and Nero.
