FC Emmelshausen-Karbach was formed on 6 January 2025, joining the football departments of FC Karbach, founded in 1920, and TSV Emmelshausen, founded in 1969, with FSV Leiningen-Norath also named among the partners in the merger. The new club took up Karbach's old colours, blue and white, and stepped straight into the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar, the fifth tier of German football. Daniel Bernd was elected chairman.
The rivalry that carries over from the old FC Karbach is the one with FV Engers 07: the two met twice in Rheinlandpokal finals and once in a quarter-final. A quieter rivalry runs against Sportfreunde Eisbachtal.
