Karketu Dili

Dili's football culture ties itself to the marketplace: 'Karketu' is the Tetum word for market, a nod to the Mercado Municipal that gave the club its name and, informally, its supporters their nickname. Founded in 2015, the club entered the first season of the Liga Futebol Timor-Leste the following year and finished runner-up, a result it repeated in 2018.

Since 2017 Karketu Dili has taken the league four times — 2017, 2021, 2023 and 2025.

The squad has carried some of the country's most recognisable names. Rufino Gama, Timor-Leste's all-time top scorer, played for the club, while Paulo 'Gali' Freitas, who had already made his national-team debut at thirteen, spent 2023 at the club. Nelson Viegas captains the current side.

Home matches are played in front of 5,000 at the Estádio Municipal de Díli, in green.
