Few games carry more weight in Klášterec nad Ohří than the trip across the Chomutov district to face SK Černovice. The two clubs draw from the same patch of countryside rather than rival cities, which is enough in Czech amateur football to turn a routine league date into a full-blooded district derby. The most recent meeting, in August 2025, went the other way, Černovice winning 3:2.

FK Klášterec nad Ohří is based in the Ústí nad Labem region, its home ground a modest stadium holding 1,500 that shares the town's name. The 2025/26 season found the club playing in the 5. liga Ústecký kraj. That is the fifth tier of the Czech league system, a level where results matter more to neighbours than to anyone further afield.

Silverware has mostly stayed close to home. The club won the III. třída okresu Chomutov, the district's third-tier competition, in 2006/07, then claimed the same title again in 2025/26 — the two triumphs separated by the best part of twenty years.

One name from the youth ranks travelled further than the rest: midfielder Michal Škultéty, born in 1984, started out at Klášterec as a boy before building his career elsewhere.

The club itself traces back to 1945, playing under the same name — Fotbalový klub Klášterec nad Ohří — ever since.
