Louisiana Krewe

Louisiana Krewe FC went through the autumn of 2020 without dropping a match, closing out a US Open Cup qualifying campaign unbeaten. The tournament it had earned a place in never started — cancelled as the pandemic shut down amateur football across the country, and the record just sits there, a season nobody got to finish.

The club traces back to Louisiana Dynamo Jrs, a youth setup that Kevin Mooney and Juan Oliva Peña turned into a senior side in late 2018, playing its first season in 2019. Oliva Peña, who came up through FC Barcelona's academy and holds a UEFA Pro licence, has coached the team since. The name settled on The Krewe, after the Mardi Gras krewes that parade through Louisiana each year, and the black-and-gold kit was chosen to echo the New Orleans Saints.

Between 2019 and 2021 the club ran through the Gulf Coast Premier League largely untroubled, picking up the Lafayette Mayor's Cup twice and the Fall Showcase Tournament along the way. It closed out that spell as GCPL and Western Conference champion, then added the South Central Region of the NISA Independent Cup for good measure. On 27 October 2021, Louisiana Krewe left the amateur tier behind for USL League Two, the first club from Louisiana to join it.

The step up has been steadier than spectacular: third place in the Mid South division in 2022 and 2023, second in 2024 and again in 2025. Matches against LA Parish FC of New Orleans carry their own name, the Battle for the Bayou; closer to home, there was a cross-town rivalry with Cajun Soccer Club. Home games are still played at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Facility.

2025 finally brought a first trip to the USL League Two playoffs. It ended in the Round of 16, beaten by Dothan United Dragons 0-2.
