Malmundaria

The Stade Jacques Lechat seats close to 3,000, a ground built to provincial scale, and it has stayed that way even as the team above it has moved up and down the Belgian pyramid. It is the only home Royal Football Club Malmundaria 1904 has known, in Malmedy, in the province of Liège.

The club formed in 1904 as Football Club Malmundaria and waited until 19 May 1922 for URBSFA to register it under matricule 188; the "Royal" title, and the name still in use, followed in 1929. It is reckoned the oldest club in Belgium's Eastern Cantons. A split in the 1920s sent part of the membership off to found a rival, Société Sportive Malmedy, under a separate matricule. Between 1940 and 1945, under German occupation, the club stopped functioning altogether and was stripped of its property.

Malmundaria play in green and white, and are known in the local press as Les Dragons — a nickname carried over from the youth section, the Jeunes Dragons, and from Jass, the dragon that serves as Malmedy's own civic emblem.

Honours have come slowly. The club won the 2ème Provinciale Liège in 2017-18, and in April 2026 took the 1ère Provinciale Liège title, going up to Nationale. Across 26 seasons spent in Promotion and Nationale football, including nine in the third tier, a national championship has never followed. On matchday, the fixture with the sharpest edge is against Ster-Francorchamps, a local derby with no love lost between the two sides.

Since 2022 the academy has had a godfather in Fred Waseige, a figure the club leans on to give its youngest Dragons a name to look up to.
