The other nickname, Fiordalisi , comes from the cornflower on the badge.

Founded in 1908, Prato spent the bulk of its life one or two rungs below the top of Italian football, and the trophy record reads as a map of the third and fourth tiers rather than the first.

Pistoia sits close enough that the fixture has been played 103 times, and it carries a name borrowed from something older than either club: the Derby della Cintola , after the Sacred Girdle of the Virgin kept in Prato and the medieval attempt to steal it.
