Regensdorf
Club · Switzerland · Schweizer Pokal
Sportanlage Wisacher sits on Wiesackerstrasse in Regensdorf, a 2,500-capacity ground the club has called home since 2006, when it opened after years spent at the older Rooswiese pitch. Before that, in the 1950s, the team had played at Platz Hofwiesen.
FC Regensdorf was founded in 1937 and played its first official match that September against FC Oberglatt. The club has stayed amateur through its history, and today competes in the 2. Liga. Its one recorded honour dates to 1958, when it beat FC Meilen to the Regionalmeister Oberland Zürich title and won promotion to the third division.
A youth setup arrived in 1954, followed by a women's team in 1993. In the 2024/25 Schweizer Cup, that first team drew Grasshoppers in the opening round and lost 0-9 on 18 August 2024. Closer to its level, the club's real rivalry runs against FC Dietikon, the neighbouring side from the same Limmattal region; the local press calls their meetings a "Familientreffen".
