Septemvri Simitli

Pirin Razlog are the club Septemvri Simitli measure themselves against. When their teams meet it is called the "Klasika".

The club's colours are red and white, and its nickname, The Simitlians, is the town's own. The roots go back to 1942, but the side in its present form took shape slowly. In 1985 it was formally established on the basis of the sports society "Septemvri", which had carried that name since the late 1950s. From 1998 to 2002 it played as "Septemvri 98". The current name returned in 2014, when Perun Kresna moved its headquarters to Simitli and the club was re-registered as Septemvri Simitli.

The high point came a little earlier, in 2011–12. In the Bulgarian Cup that season Septemvri knocked out CSKA Sofia in the quarter-finals. Ludogorets Razgrad ended the run in the semi-finals. The same season, and the one before it, they finished 6th in the Western group of the B Group, which remains their best league placing.

Before that there was one trophy, the Cup of the Amateur Football League in 1994–95. Arena Simitli, once called Stadion Struma, was reconstructed around 2014–2016, and 3,000 seats went in.

Among those who passed through are Martin Sechkov, who came late in his career after Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Minyor Pernik, and Kiril Dimitrov, a local product who went on to Serbian White Eagles in Canada.
