Sokol Pražský is the name that comes up when Slavia's basketball people talk about a real opponent.

Those shapes have changed more than once. A Slavia basketball section first took the court in 1943, reaching a bronze medal in the Zemská liga the following season, and later resurfaced in the 1. liga during the 1990s, when eighth place in 1995/96 marked its high point before senior play stopped altogether in 2015. What kept the name alive in the meantime was the youth work: a school called Tygři Praha, set up in 2012, built a reputation in junior basketball well before the senior side existed again.

That senior side returned as its own legal entity in March 2020, and the comeback did not take long to show results. In 2021/22 the team won the 1. Liga, beating Sršni Písek in the promotion playoffs to reach the National Basketball League, then finished as runners-up there in 2022/23 and took third place in both 2024/25 and 2025/26. European football followed on the basketball court's own terms, with an appearance in the FIBA Europe Cup in 2023/24 and qualification for the Basketball Champions League for 2025/26. Pavel Pumprla captained the side through that return to the top flight.

None of it happens at a large arena: Slavia and the Tygři academy share Sportovní hala Jeneč, a hall in Jenec listed at 348 seats.
