Spartak Pribram

Spartak Příbram have made a habit of winning the same prize. Since 2016/17, the club has topped I. A třída Středočeského kraje, group A, four times, most recently in successive seasons, and been promoted into the Středočeský krajský přebor each time. That is well short of the level the club once reached: in the 1940s Příbram played in the divize, the old third tier of Czechoslovak football, the highest point in its history.

The badge carries Horymír, the legendary figure the club was named for at its founding in 1894, when it played as SK Horymír — the fifth-oldest football club registered in the country. The name changed to SK Spartak Horymír and then to SK Spartak Příbram, but the club has always stood as the legal continuation of that original side, distinct from Příbram's other club, FK Příbram, which grew separately out of SK Březové Hory. The town's football split in 1950, forming Baník Příbram and Spartak Příbram, and the derby between the two became a fixture of the 1960s. It drew crowds of around 4,000.

Josef Bican, the most prolific goalscorer in the history of the game, coached the club from 1956 to 1960. His assistant on the bench was Oldřich Nejedlý, top scorer at the 1934 World Cup. Jiří Tůma played for the club from 1940 to 1961, then served as club secretary for 21 years, long enough to become its most recognisable figure. Josef Csaplár, who came through at Příbram, later won the Czech championship with Liberec.
