Unia Tarnów

Stadion Miejski w Mościcach is not the ground the Swallows spent most of their history playing on — it was built for the 2023 European Games and only opened in June 2026, with room for 1,000 spectators now and plans to grow to 4,500. Unia moved into a stadium designed for a continental multi-sport event, in a district that has defined the club since the start.

That district is Mościce, where the football section formed on 30 September 1928 for workers of the State Chemical Factory. It changed names twice before settling on Unia in 1950 — first Tarno-Azot, then TS Mościce.

The club's best football came in short bursts rather than sustained campaigns. Unia reached the semi-final of the Polish Cup in the 1968/69 season, then the quarter-final two years later. League life settled lower: fourteen seasons in the second division, with two fifth-place finishes in 1994/95 and 1995/96 as close as the club came to pushing further. The clearer honour is more recent — the III Liga Group IV title in 2011/12, won with 62 points and worth promotion back to the second tier.

Across town, Tarnovia Tarnów supplies the rivalry that matters locally, and their meetings are still called the Derby Tarnowa.

Adam Kokoszka carries the club's name furthest. A former Poland international, he joined Unia in 2021.
