Vilanova

Juan Epitié had already played in La Liga, for Alavés and for Castellón, by the time he arrived at Vilanova for the 2009/10 season — a forward capped by Equatorial Guinea, whose brother Rubén, also an Equatorial Guinea international, wore the same shirt that year. José Andrés Bilibio, a defender with Armenian roots who was capped by Armenia, joined them in the same squad — three internationals passing through a club.

Two results outline its rise: second place in Primera Catalana in 2001/02 sent Vilanova into Tercera División for the first time, and the Segona Catalana title of 2017/18 brought a promotion of its own. Neither matches 2024/25, when the club won Primera Catalana outright and with it a place in Tercera Federación Group 5, the fifth tier of Spanish football.

No settled rivalry has taken hold; CE Manresa has been the most frequent name across the table in recent seasons. A shorter stay belongs to Erick Arias, a Honduran midfielder who joined on loan in 2015 fresh from that year's U20 World Cup, before moving on to Chiasso in Switzerland.
