Vroomshoopse Boys

The players who beat FC Zutphen 4-2 in the 2025 promotion play-off final sent Vroomshoopse Boys up into the Eerste Klasse. The club had been formed decades earlier, on 5 June 1944 in Vroomshoop, and had worked through the amateur ranks of the KNVB's Ost district before that: promotion to the second class came in 1973, and in 1978 Vroomshoopse Boys won the national amateur title outright and moved into the first class, the top tier open to amateur sides at the time. A quieter title followed in 2014, when the club topped the Tweede Klasse H.

The KNVB Cup has never gone Vroomshoopse Boys' way — a quarter-final in 1975/76 remains the club's best run — but the draw has occasionally handed it a rare night out, including a tie against professional side EVV in 2019/20.

None of that carries the weight of the derby against vv Den Ham, the fixture supporters call the ultimate derby; DOS'37 and vv Hellendoorn fill out the list of local rivals. Vroomshoopse Boys play in yellow and blue, and the club has no official nickname — de Boys is what people call the team anyway. Home matches are played at Sportpark De Bosrand, which Vroomshoopse Boys share with neighbours Sportlust Vroomshoop, and where a new stand added around 300 seats in 2023.
