Wreta Kloster Women

Football in Vreta Kloster grew out of a village sports club built to hold more than one game under one roof. What is now IFK Wreta Kloster started out as Bergs sportklubb, and only took its current name in 1932, when it joined the Swedish Sports Confederation. Exactly when a women's team first took to the pitch is not recorded, but by 2022 one was playing in Division 4, the sixth tier of Swedish football, and has climbed since — second in Division 3 Dam Östergötland in 2023, and near the top of Division 2 Nordöstra Götaland in 2026.

Home games are played at Kungsbrohov, a 1,200-capacity ground on Bergsbadsvägen that had its pitch relaid with artificial turf in 2021. The blue and white kit follows the pattern set across the IFK federation. Youth football is shared with neighbouring BK Ljungsbro: the F15-19A side plays under the joint name IFK Wreta Kloster/BK Ljungsbro, won its division in 2023.

Locally, the fixture that matters is against BK Derby, still billed as the Vreta Kloster–Derby. In 2026 a different kind of derby was played, against professional side Linköping FC, a game local press covered as such despite the gulf in level; Linköping won 5-1. Cup football has brought closer contests: in the 2024/25 Svenska Cupen, Wreta Kloster took Tjust IF FF to penalties after a 3-3 draw, with Nova Wisén — now the team's head coach — scoring twice before the shoot-out went 6-5 the other way.
