28 Black Arena

Wörthersee Stadion has carried a sponsor's mark since 28 Black, the energy drink maker, took the naming rights in July 2022. The pitch itself never joined the rebrand — it stayed natural grass, cut and rolled.

The lake gave the stadium its old name and still gives Klagenfurt its identity, and the arena sits close enough to the Wörthersee that the water is part of the local shorthand for the place even when the signage says otherwise.

Work in 2018 fitted the space around the playing surface with purple synthetic turf for warm-up zones. A push in 2014 made the stadium fit for permanent, year-round use rather than the occasional big fixture.
