Aggborough Stadium
Kidderminster, United Kingdom
Aggborough Stadium has stood on Hoo Road since the ground was developed as Kidderminster Harriers' permanent home in May 1890, though the club had already been playing there since 1886. The original layout featured a single grandstand along the western touchline with a banked running track built for bicycle racing around the pitch.
The most prominent feature remains the East Stand, rebuilt in 2003 with 2,040 cantilevered seats. The main stand, constructed in 1994 to meet Football League standards, runs along the opposite side. The current official capacity sits at 6,444, split between 3,140 seated spaces and 3,098 standing terraces, though figures from other sources place the licensed capacity at 6,238.
Aggborough holds a place in English football history for hosting the first floodlit FA Cup match in the country on 14 September 1955, when Kidderminster defeated Brierley Hill Alliance 4–2. The all-time attendance record of 9,155 was set during an FA Cup first-round replay against Hereford United on 27 November 1948. More recently, the ground saw a 2–1 victory over Reading FC in 2022, the match ending with post-game confrontations on the pitch.
Other clubs have used the venue: Worcester City played here between 2013 and 2016, while Wolverhampton Wanderers U23s have used it as their home since 2020. The stadium has never carried a sponsored name and has kept the Aggborough title throughout its existence. The surface is natural grass.
