Stadium
AIL Arena
Formerly: Nuovo Stadio, Nuovo Cornaredo, Lugano Arena (for UEFA matches)
Switzerland's women's team hosted Malta there in World Cup 2027 qualifying, the first official match on the new pitch, before FC Lugano moved in for their own opening game in late July.
The stadium itself shrank on the way to being finished. Cruz y Ortiz and Giraudi-Radczuweit drew up the design, with HRS Real Estate seeing it through to completion.
The pitch is hybrid turf, stitched from natural and synthetic grass under the Vertix system and laid by FlexGrass. UEFA's ban on sponsor names in European competition means it reverts to Lugano Arena whenever the club plays continental football at home.
