KA Akureyri played here for decades, but the club has already moved on. The team now uses a temporary ground in the Lundarhverfi district, where a new stand was completed last summer. A permanent stadium is rising in the same area, with a pitch ready for the 2025 season. The old ground is still standing, but the senior team will not return to it once the new main stand opens in 2027.

The address is Glerárgata 600, but the number on a gate means little when the road runs behind a line of trees. The city has moved on, and the stadium is waiting.
