Aleksandar Shalamanov

Slavia's ground took its current name in October 2021, a day after Aleksandar Shalamanov died — the club president announced the switch. Before that it had simply been Slavia Stadium.

The ground itself replaced an earlier one, built in the mid-1920s and pulled down by the late 1940s; what went up in its place opened in 1958 and has been reworked in stages since, with renovations recorded in 1997, 2001 and 2004.

Aleksandar Shalamanov remains the reference point now attached to the place. Capacity figures for the ground vary by source — some put it near 26,000, others closer to 16,000.
