The discrepancy likely stems from the fact that the venue was rebuilt, or perhaps refitted with modern stands, after the club moved to the Ovcha Kupel location in the early 1930s. An earlier stadium bearing the name Slavia was demolished in the late 1940s, meaning the current structure inherited the title after its own construction. In October 2021, the ground was renamed Aleksandar Shalamanov Stadium following the death of the club's legend.
