Alfredo Jacome

Estádio Alfredo Jaconi carries a name older than the ground itself: it was attached in 1954 to the previous stadium on this Centro plot, honouring a former Juventude player and club president, and stayed put when the club rebuilt from scratch between 1972 and 1975.

Attendance figures have never quite agreed with each other here. Juventude's own front office and the CBF have logged different capacities for the same seasons, and the club's current site settles lower still than either — a discrepancy the ground has carried for years without anyone fully reconciling it. The record crowd long predates any of those counts: 27,740 for a 2002 Brazilian championship quarter-final against Grêmio, lost 1-0, a number a 1994 Série B semi-final against Americano-RJ came close to matching.

The stadium's biggest occasion arrived on 21 June 1999, when Juventude beat Botafogo 2-1 in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil final and went on to lift the title. Continental football followed in February 2000, a 1-0 win over Ecuador's El Nacional marking the ground's Copa Libertadores debut.

Promotion to Série A in 2021 forced the most substantial work the stadium had seen since its construction: a full pitch replacement, rebuilt home and away dressing rooms, new rooms for physiotherapy, nutrition, video analysis and anti-doping control, and an upgraded press area and tunnel. A public fundraising drive for floodlighting brought in less than hoped, so the lighting upgrade stopped short of a full LED conversion. The concrete stands themselves were left untouched throughout.
