Andruv Stadion
Olomouc, Czechia
Formerly: Stadion Míru
The ground owes its existence to a local entrepreneur who wanted to give the city a proper venue. Construction started before the war, and the first matches were played on natural grass in 1940, though the original concrete stand was destroyed shortly after by soldiers storing ammunition in its foundations. The stadium changed its name in 1950, becoming Stadion Míru. The original name, Andrův stadion, returned in 1993.
A new North Stand went up between 1998 and 2001 for a European Under-16 Championship, converting the venue to all-seater status. The South Stand followed a decade later for the Under-21 Championship, adding luxury apartments above the seating.
Sigma Olomouc has been the resident club since the beginning. The stadium has hosted international matches, including qualifiers, and has seen major cup finals.
