The ground at Río Cuarto sits on a site the locals still call El Mogote , and though the name has changed, the shape of the place has not. Estudiantes de Río Cuarto began playing there on 12 October 1938 , beating Argentino de Marcos Juárez 8–1 on the opening day. The club had bought the land itself and built the first terraces. The West stand, the only one poured in concrete, dates from 1959 and has been rebuilt since, most recently in 1966.

The South side, known as Popular Sur , was constructed in 2010 and remains open-air.

Estudiantes returned to the top flight after forty-two seasons in the second division, and the club used the promotion to justify urgent works. New locker rooms, a media centre and a VAR room were fitted under the West stand. Temporary tubular grandstands were erected along the northern touchline ahead of a March 2026 fixture against River Plate, raising the temporary headcount to roughly 13,500. The official capacity remains 12,000.

The stadium also hosted a cultural evening in September 2026 : the Bolshoi Ballet performed The Sleeping Beauty on the pitch.

The playing surface is natural grass.
