The structure sits in the Farrapos district of Porto Alegre, away from the older centre.

The surface is a hybrid of natural grass and synthetic fibres, planted with a winter blend of rye grass, fescue, and bluegrass.

Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense have used the ground since it opened in December 2012. They have kept three clean sheets on the spin in cup ties here, and the old head settled them down when they lost their way in the second half against Lanús.
