Arena Lviv

Ukraine and Poland had the 2012 European Championship, and Lviv had no arena capable of hosting it. Work started in November 2008; the structure was finished in October 2011, ending with an opening ceremony on 29 October and a first competitive match on 15 November.

That sequence matters, because it left the city with a UEFA category 4 arena.

The pitch is natural grass and has stayed so.

One more thing separates it from the other 2012 venues: the name. Since the doors opened it has been Arena Lviv , owned by the state company that runs the country's sporting arenas, and the naming rights have not been put on the market.
