Avanhard Stadium
Rivne, Ukraine
Formerly: Sokół, Kolkosnyk
The concrete terraces at Avanhard Stadium still carry the weight of the 1970s. The original Sokół stadium, built in the 1920s for 4,000 spectators, was replaced after a reconstruction that began in 1968. The new concrete structure opened on August 9, 1970, with capacity set at 25,000. This is the skeleton that remains, though the plastic seats now visible are the result of a recent overhaul.
The natural grass pitch is equipped with heating and automatic irrigation.
This was the home of FC Veres Rivne during their time in the Ukrainian Premier League in the 1990s. Crowds of 15,000 to 20,000 would pack the concrete stands when they played. The capacity was later reduced to 20,000 after the benches were replaced with plastic seats.
The most recent reconstruction between 2019 and 2022 brought the official capacity down to 4,500. Some sources suggest 7,122 after the renovation, but the difference is academic. The ground hosted the 2024 Ukrainian Cup Final on May 15, 2024, when Shakhtar Donetsk defeated Vorskla Poltava 2:1. Only 3,500 attended that final.
The stadium sits at Zamoshcha Street, 34, though the address is sometimes cited as Zamkova Street, 34. Kudrivka and Lozova play here now, after Veres moved on.
